Its day 6 of me made May and I’ve gone glam. Pussy bow blouse and red lippy on a Wednesday, crikey, I’ll be in a ballgown by Friday.
Side note – I’m wearing the blouse with a pair of ancient posh jeans that I had literally outgrown. They are excellent quality and still looking great after about 12 years, just sadly not on me. YouTube taught me how to add a panel of elastic in the waist – and now I can breathe/eat when I wear them. I used this “Sewing for a Living” tutorial:
Back to the blouse, blouse! On a lockdown day! I reserve this top for Christmas, and nights out, but it is actually very comfy for ordinary day-wear.
Can a day be ordinary when one is wearing such a fancy top, I wonder? I went crazy and put on red lippy!I sewed this top for something nice to wear over Christmas, and pull it out the twice a year I go to parties. Now though, perhaps I will wear it more often. I made it in a good quality cotton lawn, so it has a nice silky feel next to the skin.
It was an enjoyable sew, I like Sew Over It’s patterns and find them well-designed and easy to follow. The only part I fluffed was the v-neck which is fortunately covered by the ties. I’d like to try this pattern again and make this nice and neat, mine has a raw edge showing so I must have done something wrong!
There is enough ease in the pattern to make it comfortable enough to wear all day, and I can spill my dinner down it and noone would notice on this joyfully busy print. So I think I will add this to my every-day t shirts and jumpers. Hurrah!
