Merchant and Mills Saltmarsh Skirt + Tilly Walnes Frankie Tee

Merchant and Mills Saltmarsh Skirt

Day 9 of Me Made May and the sun is out so beachy prints are go!  This is the 3rd Saltmarsh Skirt I’ve made, lovely lovely pattern to sew.  I love the nice deep pockets too.

I like the casual elegance of this below the knee skirt, and the fabric, oooh the fabric!  Its a viscose, possibly ex-designer, from Fabric Godmother.

I don’t think it is really well suited to a skirt, it isn’t terribly hard wearing and it doesn’t like wooden chairs.  It is ideal for blouses, but I thought the shade of pink might not suit my face.  Its starting to show wear and tear at the back so I will just have to stand up or only sit on bean bags from now on.

I love these metal eyelets!!!  Lots of fun, playing with hardware.  I used recycled t shirt yarn for the drawstring.

The t-shirt was really nice to sew, very easy, nothing to report here.  Apart from how nice it is to wear and that I will be making many more!
